Baby Led Weaning - The Movie!

So, I have FINALLY got round to cutting a video of Jasmine doing what she does best... eating!

She is pretty good at eating now. The big problem I have is keeping stuff on her plate and preventing her from dropping it/chucking it/playing with it. Once she gets the food in her mouth, we are away, but I think she has eaten lots and then find half a sandwich or a huge chunk of banana under her highchair!

New Photos

Just some nice photos that I've just uploaded. I am no photo expert, so I am so pleased it is beginning to get a bit warmer, so I don't need to use flash all the time.

I'm pleased with the photos of Jas and Oz in the Dining Room.

Roll on Summer!

I really should update more often

I find it so hard to find the time!

Life is good. We've had a quiet week as Oscar has had possible Chicken Pox. To be honest, he has had a total of 6 spots, all hardened and clearly not itchy. So, off to nursery he went this morning.

Oscar is doing OK. He is talking up a storm. Span has taught him some underground related vocabulary as O loves his underground train that I found in Hamley's just before Christmas.

He can say "mind the gap" and "shutting the doors" Well, its close! he he.

It is unbelievable how fast he picks things up these days. He can answer my questions to some degree and often copies the radio, which is so sweet.

His hitting (touchwood) is calming downa little, except you wouldn't have noticed it at the park yesterday! Argh. We went to the park with some friends and it was a great play area. There was a train which was a real hit with Oz. They also had a wobbly bridge which I was so tempted to try, but I think I'm far too heavy! he he

Jas is a rolling queen. She is so good at it. We think she knows where she is aiming for, but part of me wonders if she just aims for wherever! She loves tissues and shoes. Both of which end up in her mouth... niiiiiiice. I predict crawling soon. My peaceful Thursdays are rapidly diminishing! Ahhh well.

I'm feeling good. I've had problems with my skin since Jas was born, and finally, the medication the doctor has given me, appears to be working. It is nowhere near perfect, but not as bad as it was. The GP thinks I had an infection. I really hope it stays away.

In other news, my parents have sold their house AND found another. I am so excited for them as they really needed to downsize a bit, while they are still fit. My father will be 68 this year, so they know that a 5 bed house is just too big. The house is going for £650 which is amazing. The new house is on the same road, at the other end, so it will be interesting to see how many times they try and get into the wrong house!!! this is the house that I grew up in.

Its going to be very very very strange when they move. We moved in when I was 9 months old. So many memories. My sister has already persuaded me to help me with Ebaying some of their stuff and they are doing a Car Boot Sale too. I hope they get rid of stuff... well they have to don't they!

Normalness

Today has been dull. Nothing of note to report at all!

Oscar was an absolute pain walking back from toddler group, which is literally at the end of the road. So SO SOOOOOO frustrating.

Jas is fine, but missed lunch today, 2nd time in a row now. Hope this isn't a habit she is forming now.

I went to another NCT sale in Withington over the weekend. Bought a few bargains, including some Boden trousers for £1.50, and the exact same pair went for over a tenner on Ebay the next day. YAY! Went for a reconvening of the D Fishwives. Only a small meeting of L and C, but we managed a couple of excellent pints of Harp Lager, to celebrate "St Patrick's Day" I could SO have stayed all day... oh how I long for a big boozy bender (but clearly not the hangover with 2 small children afterwards!) Span later told me that he was only fed up that I was out, because he was jealous. Perhaps I should have stayed!

We has Span's sister up for the weekend and we had a lovely time. Span cooked a great Chicken stew, which all 5 of us enjoyed. Jas managed very well.

Then Span's parents came over for Mother's Day and he cooked a Roast Lamb dinner. Again, Jas did well, but a lot of it did end up on her highchair, rather than her tummy. The lamb was DEEEElicious. Its not my favourite meat, but a good bit of Welsh lamb cooked with mustard and orange juice is lovely. Bread and water for the rest of the week eh?! he he

This week is a bit non-descript. Various toddler groups/playgroups/nursery days happen these days and I only just keep track of our busy timetable! I worked out, last week, that life with children is spent being extremely busy, doing very little. It can be so hard to remain positive and interested when I know I have a lot more of this before I can "restart" my life. I love it and hate it all at the same time.

On a more positive note. I bought Oz some pants today. Underground Ernie. I hope they inspire him a bit.

My first attempt at showing a video

This is Oscar singing "Wind the Bobbin up"

Oz photos

The first picture is pretty much our first trip to play in the garden this year. He looks (and was) so happy in this picture.
The second, is one of my better photos. I am very pleased with it. Its the jambalaya again. He made as much mess as his sister, but ate more of it, of course!
The third is the Oscar feeding shot! I feel I should show you what happens when they get bigger!

Photo time

First I thought I would do some Baby Led Weaning photos.

As I have said before, it is going very well. Jas loves her grub, although I'm not totally sure she eats that much.

She has, within reason, what we eat and the gagging seems to be slowing down now. She obviously is learning her own limits. But, if someone can invent a "food pick-upper" I would be delighted. I spend most of dinner time retrieving bits of food from the floor (5 second rule!) and find all manner of food items when I tidy up (infrequently... oops!)

Fruit

Jambalaya and spaghetti

I love this one!

And then onto the boy!

Our Sunday

A lovely peaceful Sunday today.

We are now all but convinced that Jas has Chicken Pox. Thankfully she is fine. Just a few spots and no bad moods. Phew.

We went to Span's parents for lunch today and the children enjoyed it. Oscar shocked us half to death by singing Baa Baa Black Sheep, almost all the way through. It was definitely a Proud Mummy (and Daddy) moment. I got a replay on video, so may well try and get that on here.

The house is still so tidy after our efforts yesterday. The cleaners will clean tomorrow and all will be well.

The children are off to bed, with Daddy on duty, so I have to get going with their milk, but I am hoping to upload some pics later.

General stuff

Been a bit lax on the updating.

It has been crazy. I queued for TT tickets last week. Did 16 hours which was hard, but so worth it as I have Row 3 tickets... YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY

Also caught up with Kelly, back from Australia. It was a short stay in Manchester for her, but I hope she had a good time.

Jas is eating lots of lovely nice food now. I have tonnes and tonnes of pictures and I really need to update more. Most of her food ends up on the floor, but I think more and more is ending up in her belly. She has what we have now.

I must admit, I have started giving her weetabix in the morning and yoghurt on a spoon, but she doesn't seem to mind too much.

I went to an NCT Sale today with my mate Teddy and we had a great time. We both got bargains galore. I think I am getting addicted to girls' clothes. There is some lovely stuff out there, there really is. I'm going to another sale next Saturday to pick up a few more bits and bobs hopefully. Obsessed methinks.

Oscar is behaving a little better at the moment. Mostly because we prevent him getting too near to Jas. Its a hard task, but it seems to work. We've resorted to the travel cot in the living room and that seems to help.
Jas is doing very well, but we suspect she has Chicken Pox. She seems to be coping very well and is now rolling all over the place. She can also clap, which I find completely adorable.

Oscar was smiling on camera... wahey

She fell asleep in my friend's Ergo. Mine is here now and is red.
