Just a few random pics.

A Rare one of me looking "OK"

General catch up

No Day in the life just yet.

All the links were wrong, so I can't be bothered to change them right now. It wasn't that interesting anyway! he he

Had a good weekend in London. Got MORE Car Boot wonders. I am such a CB Slut.

I got a Maclaren stroller for £4. Superb for our hols. I am so happy. I also got some lovely ladybird books so so cheap, I ALMOST felt guilty.

IT was a cold cold day, but good fun.

Sunday was spent relaxing and then Span and I went to my friend's birthday party, right by the Thames, at Zubaida bar, right by Southwark Bridge. It was expensive but so so nice to do something completely different. We had slightly sore heads the next day, but all was well.

Oz had a party on Monday and we just about managed to get back in time for that. He had a great time, and it was a great party.

I'm off to Paris on Friday morning. Its not been the best week, so hopefully it will improve then. I keep flitting between being happy about it, then so sad that I won't see the children until Monday. I hope I cope.

Oz has been slightly potty training this week. It has been better than I expected but to be honset, I was dreading it.

We've only had one plop, and what a hyyyuuugge one that was. We suspect he had been holding it in.

We all get a few days off now, what with Nursery and trips away. Phew!

Big Brother starts today. I'll be off to watch it after The Apprentice has finished, on Skyplus. My summer is gone! he he

Day in my life day

Another normal day here. Oscar was at playgroup this morning and so it was just Jas and me until lunchtime. She fell asleep on me for an hour and thank goodness I had my coffee with me, so I could chill out.

I missed out on a trip to Urbis in Manchester, with my friends, but we were all shattered. And Span's parents came over for dinner too, so J and O got a good nap. :)

Span cooked a wonderful dish which we found in "Take a Break" Its called Jambalaya. I would have taken pics of it, but we ate it too quickly. Its chicken, sausage and bacon in a tomatoey, chilli sauce. And you sprinkle fresh Coriander on it to finish it off. Ohhh Its GOOOOOOOD!

I've been taking photos for a "Day in my life" thing for a forum I visit. I'm hoping to post it here once I've done it. Its nothing exciting, just normal stuff. And today was my day.

Watch this space...

Fun Day

Just a pretty normal day today. I just had some nice photos to show off. I am a domestic goddess (in making)

The first two are Jas and Os just looking lovely. Please excuse the snot trails. My children are so classy...

Jas was moaning while I was cooking pie (see later) and when it went quiet, this is what I found! he he. So I carted her off to dreamland.
And this was the wonderful way I found her after I had changed Oscar's nappy. How beautiful. She just looked so so gorgeous and my heart melted.
This is part of a jigsaw my parents got me aaaaages ago, for a christmas present (I think xmas 2005) and it is an Ordnance Survey map with my postcode in the centre. I had great fun. A great way to be peaceful and relax.
This is me ( a rare, semi-good pic of me) I have a sling... The Ergo. It is functional and comfortable, but not quite as beautiful as others. (see babyhawk and Mei-tai for glamourous ones) I suppose its a lot like me. Fuctional and not glamourous!
Oscar asked to go in it today. Thank goodness it was only to get him to the local toddler group. My legs were giving way by the time we got there.
Tomorrow is a longer walk. I am not looking forward to the tantrum...
And this is THE pie. I made Chicken and Asparagus Pie today. I made the pastry on my own. (with the help of my mum's foolproof food-processor recipe) And the filling was dead easy, but all the bits had to be cooked beforehand, which is was difficult. It went down well, but is quite heavy. Will definitely do it for my sis as it is her favourite.

Just a few photos

They had chocolate mousse. It was Span's idea....

Car Boot Tales!

I hit the local Car Boot Sale today. Its literally at the back of our house. Span wasn't interested so he had the children while I went bargain hunting.

I love the fact that everything is so cheap. I got a bagful of stuff for 6 quid. And the weather was good, the people were all friendly and I got some bargains...

1x poker set, unopened £2.00
1 x summer blue dress 12-18 20p (!)
1 x short sleeved sunsuit 20p (!!!)
1 X Wooden intercity type train £1
1 x Scooter £1 (!!!!!)
1 x pair of floats and a rubber ring thrown in for free 50p

What a fabulous haul eh? Nothing that we needed, or wanted in particular, but heck I had a great time. Can't wait for the next one.....

Other items of note available £2 for a suitcase, £5 for a buggy board, £10 for a full camping table and chairs set... I could go on and on. It really is a buyers market, and I know at least one of my blog readers would LOVE IT.... (nudge nudge, you know who you are!!!)

I have made a few rules for myself after a couple of disasters.
1. Always make sure you have an instant use/definite future for your item. This means do not buy things because you *think* you might need them.
2. Have a rough idea of about 5 things you need, to give you some purpose.
3. Have a set amount you want to spend, but make sure you have plenty of cash to swipe that bargain, especially if you are milse from a cashpoint!
4. Don't buy anything to flog on... these guys know their prices. Unless you are an expert, you won't "beat" them.
5. Haggle. A lot of sellers will expect it.
5. Have lots and lots of fun! :D

I'm a bad blogger

My bad! By the time I think of it, I'm too tired, its too late and I usually have nothing to write!

All is good here. Jas is pulling herself onto things with relatively good success. She has a number of quality bruises on her forehead. However, I managed to give her an extra knock when I was heading to the toilet this morning at swimming. Her head met with the door! :(Thankfully, it wasn't hard and she has no mark but I felt so bad.

Oscar is doing well too. He got a fab present from Uncle Ebay this week! I managed to "win" (why DO they call it that - I won the privilege to pay, more like) some tube carriages for his wooden train track. How fabulous.

We are taking the children swimming once a week. This is so they are comfortable in a pool when we are camping in France. The first week was a nightmare as we didn't have floats, but the second week, they made all the difference. Neither of them has quite grasped NOT swallowing the water, but I'm sure we'll get there.

Normal Service Resumed

Ahhhh I feel sooo much better!

I've a great, quiet weekend with my sister, and Span's parents came over on Monday. It was lovely.

I thought I had loads to say. But nothing really exciting is happening.

We do have a brand spanking new car. The Audi A4 Avant. Span loves it. It is huge. I have driven it and it seems good to me. I'm hoping to test-drive it up to Cheshire Oaks on Thursday, if I am brave enough. I've got my eye on Gap. I CANNOT wait, as I have been meaning to go for ages. I think I need to write a shopping list.

I seem to be developing a shopping fad. I love pottering around as many shops as possible. The latest thing is children's clothes. I could spend HOURS looking at stuff, mostly for Jas, I must be honest. I am currently trying to find the 18-24 size of a top I have for Jas now. I have found it on ebay and am hoping I get it!

Ebay is becoming a regular haunt these days. I love looking at prices for things. My latest things are baby clothes, toys and equipment.

I am so annoyed that you can't sell Cloth Nappies on Ebay any more. Once again, sexualizing children. How on earth can you categorise used nappies in the same place as used underwear? Nappies are DESIGNED to take crap. What the hell am I supposed to do with my nappies now! Bums.

Pics next time, when I use the big computer. The laptop is far too slow!

Out of the fog!

Oh my goodness I felt rough last week. I had the sore throat from hell. I went to the docs on Friday and it wasn't tonsilitis as I had anticipated. My throat was inflamed (no shit! I could see how red they were!) I could not swallow AT ALL and had 3 very very bad nights sleep. I ate hardly anything and I found it extremely hard to drink a cup of tea, and even a glass of wine (I thought the alcohol might numb my throat, instead it burned! ouchy)

By Friday evening, I forced down a soft dinner, once it had cooled down, and I turned the corner. I did lose at least 2lbs though. Bonus considering my lunch on Friday was a bowl of vanilla ice-cream (large! YAY)

On a better note, Becca came up on Saturday and we've had a great weekend. Span did a great BBQ last night and then we went swimming with the children this morning. Both of them were quite anxious, but it was the first time for Jas, and roughly a year since I dragged myself there last year when I was preggers. I am aiming to go every week, at least with Oz, so he gets more confident before our holidays.

We also went to a Bruntwood Park with the children yesterday. Oscar loved it, and we even had an ice-cream (ANOTHER one!!)

Tomorrow, Span's parents are coming so we'll have a lovely day again. Even though the weather has turned.

This warm weather we have been having really bothers me. I am fretting about climate change. I could write more about it. I'll probably have to wait until another time.

When Bec arrived she brought an old toy that I had as a child. I am in heaven.

I actually thought there was a man in a green control room reading me the questions and answers. And also, some of the words sound so weird and 80s style. I'm hoping to video some of the highlight for memory's sake! I seriously spent hours playing this when I was younger. I really hope Oscar and Jasmine enjoy it too. One game I even like now!!

We were also a bit aimless tonight so we got out a bottle wine and a game Bec got for my birthday!

Deal or No Deal.. one of my faves. Sadly not with the original Noel. Bah.

It was a lot of fun. I won, but only on the last round.

Photo update

Just some recent photos of Oscar and Jasmine. Mostly food related as usual!

Veg days

I'm poorly. I feel like crap. ugh. Off to the docs tomorrow and suspect Tonsilitis.

Thank goodness Oscar was in Nursery today. I managed quite well with Jas on my own.

We both had naps this afternoon, but it doesn't appear to have made much difference.

What did cheer me up was getting our Northern Harvest order. Thursdays are always good in this house as we have bucketloads of fresh fruit and veg. We ALWAYS have a good lunch.

This is a pic of this weeks stash of fruit and veg. As well as this we get bread, milk, cheese, ham, bacon and eggs.

I truly think it has made a positive difference in us all. We eat good quality, generally locally produced goods and the stuff tastes so good. Much better than some of the tasteless, scentless stuff in well known supermarkets.
